Race Day (Sunday)
"The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" returns Memorial Day Weekend 2025, bringing the thrill, tradition, and prestige that make it the crown jewel of the IndyCar calendar. As the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indy 500 draws over 300,000 fans to the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
In 2024, the total race purse surpassed $17 million, with Josef Newgarden claiming victory and taking home $3.6 million in winnings. Expect even bigger stakes, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments in 2025!
Carb Day (Friday)
Miller Lite Carb Day takes place on the Friday before the Indy 500, marking the final practice session for race teams before the big event. The name comes from "carburetion," a nod to the era when teams fine-tuned their carburetors and chassis to ensure peak performance. While carburetors haven’t been used in Indy 500 race cars since 1963, the tradition—and the name—live on.
Today, Carb Day is more than just a practice session; it’s a high-energy celebration that kicks off the greatest weekend in racing, featuring live music, fan events, and plenty of excitement at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

500 Festival Parade (Saturday)
The AES 500 Festival Parade is one of the most celebrated traditions of Indy 500 weekend, ranking among the premier parades in the United States. First held in 1957, this event has become a must-see spectacle each Saturday before the Indy 500, drawing thousands of fans to downtown Indianapolis.
Each year, the parade features a vibrant lineup of massive floats, marching bands, celebrities, and all 33 Indy 500 drivers, making their way through the heart of the city in front of a live crowd and a national TV audience.
For 2025, the AES 500 Festival Parade promises even more excitement, with new themes, special guests, and dazzling performances to set the stage for the greatest weekend in racing!
